In Italy we sand our terracotta tiles.

A sander like this would be used in most parts of the world to sand wood floors. In Italy, even the tiles get sanded. The tiles come out of the kiln with great variation due to the firing in the kiln. We get a much more uniform look after sanding. But we're still not done!
