We have pulled back our construction walls as much as possible to make room for the Festa die Barbari. The festival was begun in 1984 and was the first one in Italy to celebrate Italy's gothic roots. The Festa provides funds for the commune and celebrates it's history as a fortress, built in 543, by the Ostrogoth commander, Rigo. It was built as a base for the siege of Perugia during the Gothic wars. The name Castel Rigone likely comes from the commander Rigo.
