We hope to honor the Madonna dei Miracoli with our tiles.

Part of the reason we are in Castel Rigone is because we discovered the beautiful Madonna dei Miracoli in the Sanctuary on our first visit in 2012. The Madonna appeared before a young girl in Castel Rigone in 1490. The young girl, Marietta, carried a jug full of water upside down into the village. Pope Alexander VI declared a miracle and on December 15, 1494 ordered that the Sanctuary be built. We would like to honor her in her our new home and so we have reproduced the stars in her cloak. We hope the stars will protect our new home as it protects her.
